As the documentary Tanja - Life in Movement continues to be shown in many cinemas in Europe, there are three very special screenings coming up soon. The film will also be screened at Tanzrauschen in Wuppertal on 2 October where Paul White and Gerlinde Liedtke will conduct a Q&A session following the film. Wuppertal is Paul’s current base while he is a member of the Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch.

And in November, Mrs Ilona Braun, who works closely with many arts educators in Europe will host a gathering of invited guests at the Cloister Haydua (near Kassel, Germany) to watch the film and listen to a talk by Gerlinde Liedtke.

Congratulations to everyone who made this amazing film possible and also to those who continue to work very hard so that as many people as possible will have the chance to experience the story of Tanja.

inspiring dance workshops – NAISDA, QL2  and ATYP

In August 2014, the inspiring dance workshops will, for the third year running, be delivered to NAISDA Dance College students in Kariong NSW. The success of these workshops over the last 2 years, and the impact and benefits to students has been truly remarkable. The workshops give students the chance to explore their own choreographic language, unlocking creative tools and building the skills to discover ways to create new work and to collaborate with each other in the creative process.

In September, the workshops will be delivered to the young artists engaged in the QL2 Dance program in Canberra. QL2 offers Australian dance graduates opportunities to develop professional skills and plan their career. This is the first time the inspiring dance workshops have been delivered at QL2. In 2014, Kristina Chan and Amelia McQueen will direct these workshops.

Then in October, artists Kristina Chan and Craig Bary will return to the Australian Theatre for Young People in Sydney to conduct a series of workshops with young performers aged 14 to 18.

This program has made a huge impact in Australia and we look forward to enabling more young artists to be able to engage with the program.

TLF commissioned work by Theo Clinkard (UK).

In June this year, UK dancer/choreographer/designer Theo Clinkard premiered 'Of Land and Tongue', a new double bill from Theo and his company, which featured the Tanja Liedtke Foundation commissioned duet, 'Chalk'.

The two works received wonderful response and interest, resulting in touring opportunities for this program in November 2014 and then again in spring of 2015.

“I'm so thrilled to have been able to create these works in Tanja's memory, she will always be a huge inspiration for me just as she still is for so many people. I hope some of you might be able to come along!”
Theo Clinkard, 2014.
