Deutschlandstipendium at Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts (HfMDK)

On May 15th, 38 scholarship holders and their patrons were presented with their Scholarship-Certificates at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Frankfurt. Among them was Lena Paetsch, who received a Scholarship for the second time with support of the Tanja Liedtke Foundation.
The celebration started with an artistic journey through the university with presentations of music and dance. Lena and some of her fellow dance students demonstrated impressively how a choreography is developed and which methods can be used to help the creative process. The students also answered  questions of the guests. We wish Lena all the best for her future.

The Tanja Liedtke Studio at the Odeon Theatre

Australian Dance Theatre (ADT) has transformed Norwood’s iconic Odeon Theatre into a stunning new home for dance in South Australia.

Australia’s oldest contemporary dance company has spent almost half a million dollars updating the venue to create a state-of-the-art theatre and stage space with retractable seating, rehearsal space for creative development and a glamorous new foyer and bar.

The company has dedicated the Odeon's upstairs rehearsal space to former ADT dancer and prodigious talent, Tanja Liedtke, who tragically passed away in 2007. The Tanja Liedtke Studio will be a home for creative development and workshops for local dance practitioners, and the extension of ADT’s Learning Program, which involves seminars and open rehearsals for schools, public forums, as well as public dance classes. The space will also host residencies by overseas artists through the company’s new International Centre for Choreography.  The Tanja Liedtke Foundation are partnering with ADT’s International Centre for Choreography to support the development of emerging choreographers and dance artists.

On Friday 18th May, His Excellency the Honourable Hieu Van Le AC, Governor of South Australia, officially opened The Odeon in a gala event welcoming Adelaide arts industry guests and supporters.  On Saturday 19th May, the company held a public open day, with tours of the Odeon, free dance classes, and performances from the Australian Dance Theatre and the ADT Youth Ensemble
