Alicia Bonell – Scholarship Study Year Comes to a Close

Since 2016, the Tanja Liedtke Foundation has been supporting the education of young dancers at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst (HfMDK) in Frankfurt through the Deutschlandstipendium (German scholarship program). For the 2025/2026 year, Alicia Bonell was chosen to receive the scholarship for her studies at the HfMDK.

Gerlinde from the foundation attended two performances in which Alicia performed and met up with her. As her scholarship period comes to an end, Alicia sent us the following message:

“As a dance apprentice, I have come to realise that the discovery of art never ends, neither does the passion to learn from it, learn with it, and become better at it.

Which is why I am deeply grateful to the Tanja Liedtke Foundation for allowing me the freedom to focus more on my academic and artistic development so that I can pursue my artistic goals in this new and emotive journey of learning.

I would like to sincerely thank the foundation for the financial support through the Deutschlandstipendium and the great generosity in investing in the education and future of students like me.

Sincerely, Alicia Bonell.”

We wish her every success for her dance career, and we look forward to supporting another dancer with their studies for the coming year at the HfMDK.

To come: our collaboration with the HfMDK also continues later in the year when Paul White will return to the university to lead Tanja Liedtke repertoire workshops for the students.
