Humanhood

Three-week choreographic intensive with ADT

Humanhood were amongst the winners at the Ballet Gesellschaft International Choreographic Competition in Hanover, which included a 3-week scholarship with the company thanks to the generous support of the Tanja Liedtke Foundation.

For the past few weeks Humanhood have been immersed in the choreographic methods and ideas of Artistic Director Garry Stewart during rehearsals of The Beginning of Nature. Humanhood led our company classes which were attended by members of the local independent dance sector. Our dancers also had the pleasure of learning HumanhoodPractice, which is the teaching methodology and movement training of Humanhood Company, inspired by Qi-gong and Tai-chi practices, together with Humahood’s own movement vocabulary. They also learnt choreography from some of their upcoming works and were treated to a showing of their new work ZERO.

The Tanja Liedtke Foundation and Australian Dance Theatre through the ADT International Centre for Choreography are committed to providing opportunities and support for national and international artists to exchange ideas and promote movement investigation.

Huge thank you to Rudi and Julia for an inspiring few weeks!
